Center For Exceptional Longevity Studies

Human Centenarian

Rottweiler Centenarian

The goals of the Center for Exceptional Longevity Studies are:

  1. to identify the most important genetic and environmental determinants of exceptional longevity; and
  2. to better understand the complex relationship between aging and cancer.

To accomplish these goals, we are taking a novel approach — studying the aging process in pets and people. Our research seeks to validate a comparative approach that utilizes pet dogs as informative models of human aging.
